Macro Polo Motorsports officially announced today its withdrawal from the Pirelli GT4 America season finale at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The decision reflects multiple factors, most notably the team’s current championship standing. Team owner Jeff Elghanayan outlined his reasoning:
“We’ve found ourselves outside of the championship fight this year. The competition is so fierce that there’s not a lot of opportunity for misfortune, and we’ve had our fair share of bad luck. Part of the reason to skip Indy is to avoid unnecessary risk to the car, but also because we believe our resources are better invested in building for our 2026 effort.”
When Marco Polo Motorsports first announced the change of service provider to Chicago Performance and Tuning Co., the focus on 2026 was clear from the outset. Both Chicago Performance’s Team Principal, Al Uscinski, and Elghanayan outlined their intention to use 2025 as a test bed. Uscinski echoed Elghanayan’s concerns:
“We’ve had some good results and great battles on track since we’ve been involved in the program. We’ve had a couple of podiums, and a top 5, so it’s been great momentum for the team. The flip side of the coin is that we’ve also had contact and spent time getting the car back out on track in between events. So as much as we’d love to be racing at Indy and going for more positive results, we’ve elected to minimize some of the risk to the car and fully focus on 2026 through testing. We’re working very hard on finalizing our plans for the rest of 2025 and will announce more on 2026 soon.”
Their absence from Indianapolis underscores the team’s commitment to their 2026 campaign, and their determination towards building Marco Polo Motorsports into a championship winning team for many seasons to come.
Marco Polo Motorsports will confirm its 2026 program details in the coming months, with announcements on partners, sponsors, and full-season objectives expected soon.
